World of wonders, world of woes – chances of peace, do we care how it goes?
From the earlier essays readers will have considered the merits of the
salient points proposed, with the benefit of our new found bodily electrical
energy measured in joules, are:-
1. a new dimension of philosophy to be known as Godlyanity and be promulgated
by the religions upon the foundation of
2. a wider use of TASKS being Truthfulness Accountability Service Kindness
Synthesis to form five duties for the recovery of integrity through
3. the love among us to have wider effect and benefit by ‘Love
through TASKS’ to form and facilitate
4. the basis of new leadership to recover the imperative basic cultures
common to and required of us all.
The foregoing can be encouraged in the following futuristic theories.
SOME PRACTICAL PROBLEMS FOR FUTURITY
George Washington is quoted as saying, “The mind must dilate with
the dimensions of a continent and extend with the revolutions of futurity”.
Obviously the first President of the United States was a visionary on
behalf of his newly formed country. He knew that its future would bring
about momentous changes by and for its people, not all beneficial but
hopefully so, in that great but occasionally mistaken country. To achieve
beneficial changes we need to work with ‘our best self’ as
the late Alice Bailey put it. In her many years of Esoteric Teaching
she wrote 24 books and other papers about the shrine of man’s living
and about the restructuring of the lives of humanity being based upon
the spiritual entreaty of Love. This seems to need a simple and practical
plan to widen its appeal and to bring its purpose into effect. TASKS
fulfils this because of its segmental parts in the meaning of Love and,
with the future as the purpose for which we are working, it becomes incumbent
upon us to practice love both for ourselves, our offspring and others.
Another aspect of futurity was described by John Lloyd in his excellent
article in London’s Financial Times of 12th January 2002 under
the title of “Wanted - the next big idea” as follows: “Ideas – big
ideas – are different from events. They are produced by events
and, in turn, assist in producing events. Communist regimes, for example,
were produced in part by Karl Marx’s big idea that history had
ended in the inevitable victory of socialism, an idea whose spur in the
real world was the rapid growth in the 19th century of an industrial
proletariat with nothing to sell but labour power; suddenly communism
has lost its will and purpose.” Additionally it took away the freedom
and dignity of its people.
Another big idea is Capitalism now under pressure from its own inflation,
which is, basically, the greed and power-mongering resulting from the
unethical free wills of those minorities operating the systems though
capital, in money terms, has its own energy for good. After the terrible
events of 9/11 - under the convenient label of ‘terrorism’ for
the benefit of keeping the industries alive and the oil flowing that
produce the methods of mass destruction - there is the need to rein in
the worst of the ills of capitalism.
Today we have a system that appears to give the people their freedom
under the guise and title of ‘democracy’ but it has lost
spiritual guidance by which people may otherwise maintain their free
will and integrity. With the vast, unstoppable global movement of people
we all become cosmopolitans and as democracy shows it is now outdated
for, what was, at one time, a means for the people to be represented
fairly across all lands it is now very distorted. Is a new label now
required for the representation of the people? Might it be named Cosmocracy
for futurity in the representation of the people by the people to free
us from the democracies which have now developed into dictatorial and
corrupt administrations? This begs another question is no one able to
change the pattern of the present disastrous way of doing things? Is
it too big a project? Surely not after the many wondrous things that
humans have achieved and very worthwhile if we put our hands into those
of God.
All faiths could aid in the synthesizing of those parts of the religions
concerning themselves with ethical issues, without losing their differing
opinions or their autonomy, by suffixing “Godlyan” to the
names of each religion or faith, to signify their wider practice of ‘LOVE
through TASKS’. Leaders of religions would gain a fresh regard
from their followers without loss of their particular religious persuasion
or the status of their leaders. Our World of Wonders would benefit while
the World of Wiles would be reduced by this approach to brotherly and
sisterly love under the new concept of Cosmocracy as a political format
and impetus by the people for the people.
UNITED NATIONS, UNESCO AND THE UNITED STATES
The formation of the United Nations has not yet achieved the desired
unanimity among nations and this will not come about under present
influences. Could the United States become sufficiently humble in their
commerce and politics to share ‘power with’ rather than ‘power
over’ lesser nations? It flatters the ego of citizens of their
country to say they are the most powerful but with negative results
when used for their own interests that do not include the best interests
of others. ‘Power Over’ corrupts whereas ‘Power With’ synthesizes.
The operations in the U.N. are relatively less important than the educational
work of UNESCO, based in Paris, France which has an almost more important
brief in bringing and upgrading good education to everybody upon which,
ultimately, all U.N. understanding and principles are formed. The U.N.
has a formidable course to run for improvement in conditions ‘of
the people by the people for the people’ and for them to have an ‘effective
say’ in decision making as illustrated by the lack of it in the ‘terrorism’ or ‘invasion’ of
Iraq. Also the International Labour Organisation in Geneva, representing
most working people, could help the U.N. to be more effective but it
needs ‘Cosmocratic’ ‘power with’ in all organisations
to do so.
SOME ILLUSSIONS OF WELLBEING
There are too many illusions about the public seemingly living in ‘democracy’ from
which we are all meant to benefit; it is often the screen that hides secret
deals designed to control our day-to-day lives for moneymaking minorities among
whom many are corrupt and criminal.
It looks wonderful to see on our screens the various groups of apparently Very
Important People getting together to re-arrange the affairs of the peoples
of, for example, the old Yugoslavia, until we realise the truth. The truth
is that the powers which instigate a variety of wars through the ‘seeming’ hatreds
among various peoples are by and for the ‘interested’ sectors of
capitalists, munitions, oil and other manufacturers together with power based
religions and political parties. They know that the peoples of the ‘warring
parties’ are the ones who suffer from the pumping in of billions of loan
dollars, as in the Balkans and now Afghanistan followed by Iraq. It becomes
obvious that such ethnic cleansing is perpetrated to maintain the status quo
of industrial growth and the manipulation of systems and peoples.
Is our ‘democracy’ to be maintained by the killing and maiming
of people, often half a world away from each other? Are these methods to continue
as they did throughout the 20th century? For whose benefit we must, in all
conscience, ask? Also ‘How long will this continue?’ But, to the
point, ‘What do we do about it, shrug our shoulders or try to ‘Love
through TASKS’?
Such questions have to be addressed, firstly, by individuals and then by groups.
We all need to decide that much of the present is not good enough and that
improvements start with each of us, through His Love and our TASKS to form
Godlyanity. Then - with our neighbours and our representatives and systems
we can develop the new and exciting label of Cosmocracy- there’s the
challenge! But, are we willing to change?
The event of 9/11 was a great opportunity for a paradigm shift, not for the
euphemism ‘war on terrorism’ but for Peace We, the people, allowed
the present world conditions to develop but can we reverse them? Yes, not from
fear but from our newly realised joules of energy.
THE CHALLENGE
The God within us makes us all Godlyans
With TASKS as the commonality of all deeds
Until we respond with our best as citizens
Freewill obstructs His Love for our needs
Without conflicting our various beliefs
From whichever religion, philosophy or others
Godlyanity is the prospective spiritual relief
To show that the One God made us as brothers
The effect of the acronyms quoted herein
Is easily assimilated to assist our return
To a world that reduces the harms-way we are in
By invoking the PEACE for which we all yearn
The requirements for re-cultivating our ways
Thru’ behavioural things that cry out for our efforts
To improve our practices and forgive in life’s maze
And show God our Godlyness to which He resorts
The hearts that are yearning for The Coming One’s return
First must acknowledge our improvements begin
With human reverence by TASKS so to earn
His willing response from Whom practitioners will win
Harmonising our minds with TASKS as our guide
Gives hope to humanity from the troubles it suffers
Today is the start of our new Godlyanity worldwide
Plus parental teaching of grace are our offers
Having these realisms in every heart and mind
Not fearing our chances within His Great Gift
Individually or collectively don’t be left behind
In seizing this prospect of our Godlyan shift

FUTURE POSITIVE BY ‘ESPRIT DE COSMOPOLITANS’ IN COSMOCRACY
The children born in the future – the Idas and Ians who grow to
be men and women – could be spiritually imbued with their Godlyanity
by ESPRIT of community as cosmopolitans in the One World with the benefit
of Cosmocracy.
ESPRIT-for Extra Sensory Positive Response In Tasks- will, in due time, cause
humanity to think, talk, love and live as Godlyan members of ESPRIT de Cosmopolitans
(people from all parts of the world). This would develop from the decrepit
culture of democracy to the new and exciting global culture of Cosmocracy for
cosmocrats - of mutual regard and common wellbeing- when Peoplism prevails.
The principle that ‘power with’ works for human betterment rather
than ‘power over’ would become clear among Godlyans in their efforts
to create Godlyandom on Mother Earth.
COSMOCRATIC VISIONS FOR CULTURAL BENEFITS
From the deep-seated nature of pride in humans we are at present stuck
in our existing cultures. The cultures displaying themselves in the
many countries of Europe, which are endeavouring to become one as the
European Union, seem mostly for economic benefit. Countries are not
being asked to submerge their cultures in this endeavour and yet a
new regard for mutual benefit needs to be moulded into an acceptable
culture to allow for the retention of respective characteristics but
without the systems of ‘power over’ and corruption which
result in special benefits for some.
The way forward is by a Cosmocratic process, based upon Godlyanity, with
administrative centres chosen because they are the most suitable for
a particular requirement as in education, science, sociology, industrial
production etcetra and not because of national pride but because they
are best suited from their historical experience in a particular field
of activity. All the main capitals of the world would make themselves
available for choice as most suitable. These capitol cities will become
more apparent as bases of particular suitabilities become apparent once
the now massive movement of people settle like ‘birds of a feather’ to
establish their skills and attributes with the convenient and all pervading
language of English. Incidentally, though probably be design, the predominance
of English language has nothing to do with English pride but all to do
with the way technology in matters of communication has developed. Such
a process might enable the nations to become ‘associated’ without
the present political pressures of trying to be ‘united’.
Only time will tell but let us try.
Readers will realise that the contents of this epistle are from a life
of observation and experience arising from many adventures coupled to
my belief in an overall spiritual power which is conveniently called
God though some may demur. It seems realistic and, to me, comforting
that if each of us counts our blessings and helps others to achieve theirs
then paths of Godlyanity and Cosmocracy will be worthwhile albeit a mountain
to climb.
During WWII again I suffered ‘gunshot wound- face’ and survived
the second time while driving a Sherman tank, this time with the Warwickshire
Yeomanry, so I feel grateful to ‘something’ with mystique
and outside of me. Is there a debate? Furthermore in later years the
German unit with which we were fighting was traced and I with my late
wife Joyce were invited to their regimental reunion in Bavaria when gifts
were exchanged with appropriate speeches. These are the ingredients of
my forgiveness - hard to imbue and yet so worthwhile - whilst not by
word but mostly by my willingness to accept the invitation, between people
hurt during historical or recent offences that bring the prospect of
peace.
